Common Questions

What makes Khana Peena Ghar Se achars different from supermarket pickles?

Unlike mass-produced commercial pickles that rely on industrial acidity regulators, artificial chemical preservatives, and refined/palm oils, our achars are handcrafted in limited small batches. We use traditional sun-curing methods, pure cold-pressed mustard oil, and curated whole masalas roasted by hand in our family kitchen.

What oil is used for preparing the achars?

We exclusively use 100% pure cold-pressed mustard oil (kacchi ghani sarson ka tel). It naturally preserves the achars while infusing that authentic pungent homestyle warmth you expect from a traditional Indian kitchen.

Are there any artificial preservatives, synthetic vinegars, or colors?

No artificial chemicals, zero synthetic acetic acid (vinegar), and zero artificial colors. Shelf stability is achieved entirely through natural salt curing, sun fermentation, and the natural antimicrobial properties of cold-pressed mustard oil and turmeric.

How long is the shelf life and how should I store the jar?

Our achars have a shelf life of 12 months (1 year) from the date of preparation. Store the glass jar in a cool, dry pantry at room temperature. Always use a clean, completely dry spoon when serving to keep moisture out. Refrigeration is not required as long as moisture is avoided.
